VOLUNTEER

To volunteer, click on the button below. You will be directed to our VolunteerLocal page where you can select the job and the shift you want:
SIGN UP TO VOLUNTEER
All volunteers will receive a T-shirt or hat or other race goodies as a thank you.  We also offer a complimentary entry to a future event for a full day's volunteer assistance. Any of these positions could be staffed by an organized volunteer group (High School team or NMU team for example), which may receive a donation for extended dedicated service.

JOBS AVAILABLE

Friday
5K AND 1-MILE KIDS RACES
Forestville Trailhead
  • Assist with race number handout and waiver signing
  • Assist with T-shirt distribution
  • Assist with questions and concerns and help on the race course
  • Assist with post-race food and drink
 
Saturday
PARKING/RACE PREPARATION
Forestville Trailhead
  • Welcome and assist racers in orderly parking
  • Answer questions and direct racers  

AID STATIONS
Various locations
  • Assist Aid Station Captain in duties of a safe, reliable aid station
  • Assist racers with refilling fluids and finding foods
  • Assist racers with drop bags, if aid station has racer's bags
  • Assist in set up and take down of tents, tables, chairs, food and drinks
  • Assist in basic first aid or manage medical situations by calling 911
  • Assist in racer tracking by writing down racer bib numbers
 
MEDICAL STAFF
Various locations
  • MT50 is requesting volunteers as medical staff for our race aid stations.
  • Medical would include a licensed or certified doctor, advanced practice provider, physical therapist/PTA, EMT, athletic trainer, or nurse.

  • Sugarloaf Parking Lot
  • 1 mile North of Little Presque Isle
 
POST-RACE PARTY AND CLEANUP
Forestville Trailhead
  • Finish Line Support (work the age group award tent and ensure runners know to pick up their awards and support the Race Director in handing out finisher medals/directing people to post-race food, and directing racers to Superior Timing) 
  • Welcome and assist racers with food and drink (serving food to runners, letting them know the food options, etc.) 
  • Manage trash and messes around the building and grounds
  • Check port-a-potties if need to be cleaned or need toilet paper​
